Group Work

During class today we received a new group member, Wendy. This is going to be a great opportunity for our group to be able to have another perspective on our research as she has a different Habitus as she has grown up in China. During class we discussed the reading and shared our insights and external research with one another.

From this we were able to determine a good set of questions to ask our experiment participants before and after the experience so we are able to gain a deep insight into their experience.

We also decided after further research it would be a good idea to conduct two different experiments. One with sight being taken away and one without sound. By doing this we are hoping to get detailing information and insight into both and make an in-depth comparison between the two. By completing these experiments before the interviews, it gives our team a chance to try and gain some insight into the difficulty of everyday task, communication with others and how/if our senes are heightened. We are also very mindful of being respectful of our interviewees, by completely the experience we can successfully create a list of insightful and respectful questions to ask.

Before Questios
  1. What are your expectations?
  2. Do you feel included or excluded in this space?
  3. How do you feel without eyesight/hearing?
  4. What is your most heightened sense right now?

After Questions
  1. What did you experience?
  2. Is there anything you noticed that you didn't before in this space?
  3. Do you feel connected to the space?
  4. Did your habitus assist you in navigating the experiment?
  5. What sense fo you rely on most right now?

We also decided on where the experiment will be held will be conducted. We chose a space where our participants have been before and experienced with all their senses. This we believe will produce interesting results, we hope to discover them using there habitus to help them work their way through the space.
